About     

Josephinah Makoba studied Accounts at University of Botswana where she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Before joining the University of Botswana, Josephinah Makoba worked at Furniture Mart, head office as an accounts officer where she was in charge of Micro lending scheme and these included loan application processing, and disbursement, general ledger, monthly deductions, monthly reports, trial balance, customer relations, and cash/ bank reconciliation using Pastel accounting package.
In November 2004 she joined the University of Botswana as Assistant Manager and was promoted to be Finance Manager (FM) in 2009. As Finance Manager in Okavango Research Institute, she is responsible for overseeing procurement of goods and services disburse and monitor projects funds as well as prepare financial report for management and the donor. FM oversees assets and inventory as a custodian of University property as in cash or equipment, materials and office supply. Management level, her duties are to attend Board, Executive meetings and other committees assigned by Director in which she presents a report and provide financial advice to the stakeholders. FM sets out performance objectives and targets for the various sections/subsections in conjunction with subordinate staff by providing administrative guidance to subordinate staff.
Josephinah Makoba attended different short courses and they include Leadership skill with the University of Botswana 2005, Advanced Strategic Procurement, Tendering & Strategic Supply Chain management in 2011, Project Risk Management for Professionals EZONA Professional Training in Namibia. Between 2011 and 2014 she went to Belgium, Sudan, Hamburg to attend workshops and meetings with donors. On long term study, she is enrolled with University of Botswana studying Masters in Project Management where she is now working on her Dissertation.
