About

Shadreck Mpanga got his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Zambia in 2004. His final year project at Bachelor’s level was study of the Photovoltaic Power Generation Systems. He worked for Konkola Copper mines Ltd from 2005 to 2008 before joining The University of Zambia in 2009 as a staff development fellow. He then went on to study for his Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering at Hunan University in China, during which time he also studied Distributed Generation Systems Technology and Photovoltaic Power Generation Systems Technology, as two separate courses. His M. Eng thesis was entitled, ‘Study of key theoretical and technical features of the dynamic loading of high voltage overhead transmission lines’. He has since published two papers in two separate international journals. Since July 2013, he has been a researcher in the department of electrical and electronic engineering at The University of Zambia. His interest in New and Renewable Energy Technologies has grown due to the fact that many people in Zambia are not connected to the main national electric grid, and as such he is ready to go and help out in such areas.
